What could be a more exciting event for a writer than to celebrate their literary works?

That is what happened last Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at D'Cup Coffee Republic, Pasig. In collaboration with Ukiyoto Publishing, Scribblory organized The Great Autumn Meet where writers, authors, friends, and loved ones gathered to witness the triumph of the Dream Book Project Graduates as well as the Awardees and Nominees of Gintong Pluma and Magkasintahan 3.0!

Five authors launched their books namely, Rhodesia (A Long and Lasting Life), A.M. Caneda (Calm in the Chaos), Naysan Albaytar (The League of the Dream Hunters), Abby Ruth P. Labja (Whispers of Love in White Coats), and Bhon Glory Jayn P. Cabilete (Mathematics Is a Woman).

The event started with greetings from Scribblory’s founder Elaine Marie Factor, followed by an introduction of each author to set the stage for the most-awaited part of the event—the panel interview with the book authors. Four of them were graduates of the Dream Book Project Batch 1 while Glory was a guest self-published author.

The panel interview was led by Nichelle Dizon, one of Scribblory’s Administrators and Social Media Writing Mentor. She asked the authors about their books as well as their writing process, particularly their source of inspiration in writing their books, their struggles, and motivation. Each answer from the authors astounded the audience and filled the room with so much wisdom and writing inspiration. Later on, Nichelle opened the floor for the audience's questions, which the authors gladly answered. The panel interview was closed by one last question, which was their advice for aspiring authors.

Elaine Marie Factor was then called back on stage to do a felicitation of the authors of the Dream Book Project, awarding each one with certificates and posing for photo-taking for keepsake. This was followed by the felicitation of Awardees of Gintong Pluma and Magkasintahan 3.0, with plaques and certificates given on stage to Arius Lauren Raposas (Revolution: 80 Days) and the duo authors, Angelica Marie Reyes and Patricia Katrine Madayag (Musings: Midnight Thoughts). The nominees were also called on stage for an applause and photo-op, acknowledging that it was an honor to be selected among the several others who had submitted an entry for Gintong Pluma.

The event didn't end there. Spot offers for the upcoming Dream Book Project Batch II, Translation, and Comic Creation were discussed, giving the audience the chance to learn about writing their future books and becoming future published authors themselves.

As always, the program concluded with networking and an optional visit to the book tables to see more literary works from Scribblory Bookshop and Ukiyoto Publishing. The participants were assisted by the Scribblory team, which also included Scribblory's Blogging Mentor Vergie Manligas. The authors then took their seats on their assigned tables for their book signing, and the audience gathered around them to check out, buy, and have their books signed and get photos taken.

The event was capped off with a group photo of everyone in the room.

In the end, The Great Autumn Meet became one of the literary events we joyfully could look back to not just to get inspiration and drive but to be reminded of the story, the truth, the mission, and the call that every author and writer has—not just for themselves but for their readers.

With that, we would like to congratulate once again all the graduates of the Dream Book Project, authors, awardees, guests, friends, and loved ones who had taken part in this memorable event.

P.S: It’s time for you to fulfill your dream of becoming a published author! You can still join the Dream Book Project Batch 2 and launch with us in February 2025!
